Embedding the English Textual Concepts™ throughout a teaching programme provides a framework for a continuum of learning in English. This professional learning activity will present a scope and sequence of concepts, texts and units for Stage 4 and Stage 5 that illustrate how concepts can be used to differentiate learning across and within stages. Throughout the day you will have the opportunity to become familiar with and reflect on:

  • the principles that underpin the development of a scope and sequence based on textual concepts
  • specific units of work from different stages
  • the relationship between concepts and inquiry in English
  • examples of Stage Four and Stage Five scopes and sequences using English Textual Concepts™
